Yesterday (Monday) I met my cooperating teacher Brian Owen for the first time. There was a little bit of confusion at the start of my student teaching experience, and he was on leave, so essentially I have to play catch up this week. It isn't as bad as it sounds, for I have met all of the students and I have actually helped out the relief (substitute) teachers out quite a bit. So when Brian got back, everything transitioned smoothly. I am excited to be able to implement some American sports next week Hopefully the students respond well, they seem excited to learn them.
I was able to get on my bike this weekend, which was the first time in two plus weeks. I peddled down to the mall and then down to a marina. It was good to just get out and be able to ride around.
The winter season is creeping up on us. The weather has been marvelous since we have gotten here, but the rain is starting to increase. Being fortunate for the first two weeks, it has rained two times in three days here. That is expected, just tough to take in after the spoiling weather since we have arrived.
Last night I was treated to some spectacular food, a BBQ. Wonderful steaks, corn on the cob and a salad. I've been eating really well here, I have to stay active or this health teacher wont look so healthy.

- I am currently employed by Lansing Public Schools. I am a health teacher at J.W. Sexton High School and a physical education teacher at Wainwright and Wexford Elementary Schools. I also am the Assistant Wrestling Coach for the DeWitt High School. I graduated Cum Laude from Central Michigan University in August of 2008 with a Bachelor's Degree in physical and school health education. I like your writing. It's kind of funny to read you writing without mpbmx slang mixed in.
I hope your spreading our unique dialect to the Aussies. I want to go over there and hear kids saying "having it" "Size L/Huge/TX" "Get it outta here" "OTC" "Banger" "You won't" "Get outta town" and maybe if I'm lucky, "word"
I've definetely broke out some mpbmx lingo, and it hasn't gone over good once here. It is funny to see and hear someone look at you in total confusion and ask what you said, then you repeat in totally normal english with a slight accent.
are you kidding? people in the States look at us (especially Andy) in that same confused way when we (especially Andy) say(s) something completely absurd and off-the-wall. don't let that discourage you though, Andy. i don't want to ever be able to make any sense from what you say
p.s. i've called your phone several times at different times in the day and it's always busy. i got your message from the other day and called back that same number. so either you need to not talk on the phone so much, or your phone is acting goofy

I'm sure they'll catch on before to long and start saying "what does that even mean?" after nearly everything you say. I rarely know what the heck you are talking about. It took me a while to start seriously questioning it though.
